OK, so the Blues managed to lift the trophy on their triumphant return to Wembley. But overall this year's FA Cup Final was very disapointing for the majority of the game. When getting back to the flat just before kick off I ended up falling asleep for the first three quarters of the match after Russell Watson sang the National Anthem. Even Motty and Mark Lawrenson barely sounded enthusiastic.
Whilst I'm not a devoted fan I've never hated football, and I really feel hurt when someone says they do with a passion. Some part of my inside however is trying to make me do the same by falling asleep unintentionally just before the kick off of an important match.
I woke at around 75 minutes into the game and was pretty much hooked throughout towards Didier Drogba's superb goal in extra time. When the game reached it's end I immediately texted one of the many United supporters on campus, Chris from the first year not just about the result but to get him back for waking me up earlier last night and for joking me about on my table at the awards last night. At the same time it felt brilliant to see the winning team celebrating on the pitch with "Blue Day" playing in the background.
Tomorrow morning I'll be heading back to Canterbury to stay for the night as my laptop will be arriving back the next day. As for tonight I wil be wearing my Chelsea away shirt with pride at Ashlea's footballers and WAGS birthday party!
