Undercroft Set Sorted!

Still no signs of improvement as far as my throat goes. The sooner I can get into Sainsbury's the better as there's a lot to get done today. Having said that I've sorted out my playlist for the Undercroft Night tomorrow with what I think is a good summer set regardless of what the weather will be like tomorrow. Included are Earth Wind And Fire, and Tom Browne's "Funkin' For Jamaica" alongside a few other choices such as Crystal Waters' "Gypsy Woman" and Todd Terry's cover of "Keep On Jumpin".

I've certainly got some inspiration for a few of the tracks to play after watching the 1981 edition of "The Rock 'N' Roll Years" where this year saw the arrest of the Yorkshire Ripper, the retirement of Ian Botham and Bucks Fizz winning the Eurovision Song Contest. Some fantastic music as well including "Ghost Town" by The Specials, "Lately" by Stevie Wonder, and "Intuition" by brit funkers Linx.
Some of the other tracks which don't really get played as much included "Sailing" by the underrated Christopher Cross and "Good Thing Going" by Sugar Minott which I will always remember for being covered by Eastender's Sid Owen, 19 years later.

On a similar note it's worth mentioning "Star" by Kiki Dee which ended up as the theme to "Bob Says Opportunity Knocks" later on in the decade and the rather embarrassing "Wired For Sound" by Cliff Richard.

It will be nice to get back to having full control of the CD players tomorrow after last month's foam party. The person I was DJing with could have just done the whole thing on his own as everytime I suggested the next track to play, he always opted for one of his own choices at the last minute.

The moral of this story: One head is better than two.
