We've done it. We've managed to succesfully pull of 24 hours of broadcasting with a lot of effort put in by all who contributed. This was shown in a very emotional highlights package put together by Ross T and played near the end of the broadcast which resulted in me nearly breaking down.
There were some funny bits included as well including Seb And Jon's show once again being disrupted by someone accidentally switching the power switch off, in this case Tilley himself. However I think he can be forgiven as the track playing before it was switched off happened to be one by Razorlight. Also included were Ben and Jason actually reading some of the spam e-mails recieved day to day on Smoke asking us to buy either watches or Viagra.
Goodlass and Marshall rounded off proceedings with a three hour show made up of a selection of prank calls made to their mates with the duo shouting "good moooorning!" to them a la Gladys Pugh of Hi-De-Hi! Before them Steve Jones did a show live from a kitchen in halls which nearly didn't go to plan due to a security guard lurking about. Well that's how it sounded on air.
I'm rather proud of being the only one here to have not fallen asleep throughout the whole broadcast having been on campus from 8:15 yesterday morning. But overall everyone has done a fanatastic effort from the first years handling the election coverage really well to the live music performances. It's made me feel more positive about how things will be going with the station in the next few months.
