I'm warming up an experimental spag bol (well, with conchiglie pasta) with the powder normally used for making chicken stew after a very long day in radio.
To be honest all I've really been doing has been ripping and tagging CDs onto my hard drive but it was nice to have company from a small selection of radio students continuing with their own podcasts. We even had a visit from Tudor who came to borrow a microphone from me for his visit to a Prog Rock festival in Cheltenham tomorrow, the results of which will end up in his show this coming Tuesday.
However I've got a bit further with sorting what audio I'm going to use in my podcast and quicker than I thought as well with some very good interviews from Jan at Boys Langton and Sue from the Abbey unit who give very good insights into how their programmes help children with learning difficulties.
The main reason overall why I'm feeling more confident towards completing the task is that I've been spoilt stupid once again with another end of year special from The Chart Show added to Youtube, this time from 1988. From what I understand the number 1 song of the year was Yazz and the Plastic Population with "The Only Way Is Up" and that song was very relevant for the show then as this particular edition was the final one to be broadcast on Channel 4 on the 2nd of January 1989, moving to ITV just five days later becoming a fixture for many Saturday mornings.
I'm going to have a goldmine of musical and televisual nostalgia to endure in at by the end of this semester!
