The Third Year Looms...

I've just signed up for the theory modules that I want to take in the third year which are Contemporary Issues in Media Policy in semester 1 and Advertising and Promotional Culture in semester 2. According to SRS web it says you only need to take 2 theory modules to add up to 30 credits totalling the amount you will get in the third year but I'm not so sure if that's accurate after last year's problems with registering for modules. Although in all fairness the main reason we had to re-register was because one of the lecturers decided rather selfishly at the last minute to move their module from the first to the second semester.

However it's going to be a tough old year next year as Dan was up in the radio rooms last night going on about how difficult the dissertation is and handling it with his other commitments. I've agreed to be part of his focus group on podcasting next week to help give him a hand and I'd be more than happy to transcribe the discussion for the appendix, just to save him a bit of time. That's if I can handle the two essays I have for Media Technology, Media Events, the Critical Report for the Podcasting module and managing the madhouse that is ASDA back in Canterbury! If they give me a callback to confirm my return.

If I'm brave enough I'll make a start on the Critical Report today and find some radio websites to analyse although I don't think many of them are as poorly designed as the Tarot Website that I submitted for the first half of the module. And there's also the penultimate show of the semester to sort out which includes a very groovy track from Eternal! It didn't take the fancy of all however as it was featured on Trev and Simon's "Video Galleon" on Live and Kicking 11 years ago where the guests voted the song to be swallowed by the shark! "Stuff it Sailor Simon!"
