An early visit into Uni this morning to get out a Mini Disc recorder. Ideally it would be better to have a Marrantz but they are heavilly in demand especially as theres twice as second year radio students as there are Marrantzs. I've had a look on iTunes for a few more ideas for podcasts and there are quite a few which allow people to learn foreign languages. Having a Spanish friend back in Canterbury may be a helpful idea in what could become my series of podcasts, although I'd want to try and be experimental and do more than just explain how to go about certain scenarios such as buying drinks in a pub etc. Then again it's probably best not to be too ambitious knowing the limitations of radio.
However all that's being put on hold today as there's an annual budget meeting at the Marylebone campus this afternoon where from what I've heard quite a few people will be trying to get Salima out of her role as president in favour of Martin. I've only heard about this since getting back last night but hopefully the man himself will be there along with others who feel the need to complain about how Salima can get a second term after her poor relationship with students especially on the Harrow campus. Overall though, something really needs to be done about the UWSU if the majority of people are unaware that it even exists.
