The Drama Society had the Undercroft bar in their hands with their performance of "The Vagina Monologues". Everyone did a brilliant job with the acting, particuarly Lizzie who gave a very fiesty rant about female protection. Whilst waiting for them to start I noticed that they were playing some groovy tunes such as "Evil Vibrations" by the Mighty Ryeders and "Sun Goddess" by Ramsey Lewis and Earth, Wind And Fire. I then realised that they happened to be using one of the CDs used in my soul set for the Smoke Radio night a few weeks ago that I left lying around!
Although the play itself was only half an hour long, the Drama Society are doing two nights at Area next week performing "Howard Katz" written by Patrick Marber who used to write for BBC Radio 4's "On The Hour".
Before heading up to the Undies I had to give Ben and Jason a hand recording their show for tonight and explaining them on how to schedule as I wouldn't be there to do it for them. Even if the show's not going out as planned tonight it shouldn't be a problem as they're lined up for the 24 hour broadcast in the early hours of Saturday Morning. I've also been given a slot between 3 and 4 playing continuous "Bubblegum Soul" as the schedule for the event itself has been sent out to all involved.
I may even bring the duvet with me!
