Less Daunting Than Expected

The afternoon had a visit from Dan P who gave us an insight into the making of a series of podcasts with Jamie Oliver which he produced last summer. This was very well explained and we heard a few out takes from the recording where someone had rang up the listener helpline asking if there was any way of "cooking cock". Of course they took the joke in both ways and it goes to show that podcasts shouldn't be taken too seriously.
We were also set the second assignment which isn't as hard as I thought it would be, we've got to produce a web page with links to three individually produced podcasts. These can be based on the themes on politics, food, sport or oral history. Not sure which one I'll choose but after a visit to CANDA I should be stable.

By 4pm we were all dying to get out but were held up by people asking questions and arguing on what podcasts should be constructed. However it will be the last time this year that we are in practical radio lectures as a group formally as we're working on the assignment until the end of semester and after that we're essentially on holiday.
However Lamby suggested us getting together for a picnic which may become a Facebook event by the way things are going.

At the moment things are pretty gloomy in the radio rooms as Salima has won the position as UWSU President for a second year running. We're not allowed to give our opinions on air but we're not impressed by the outcome and will try our best to cope through the year ahead. For tonight though it's all go!
