Enjoyed And More Than Tolerated

To be honest it could have done without the mildly amusing inserts from Alan Yentob but tonight's selection of highlights from Simon Amstell's tenure on Buzzcocks really was one of the funniest things I've seen on television this year. Just Simon's face is enough to raise a smile which to be honest was the only amusing part of the interview with the ex BBC 1 controller.

They definitely dug out the most memorable highlights including Amy Winehouse spitting, John Barrowman "outgaying" Amstell, Bill Oddie showing off his knowledge on female performers and Donny Tourette lighting up in the studio which produced one of my favourite reactions from the host;
"A cigarette! That you can legally buy in shops! I would carry on but I'm shocked and appalled!"

I would have prefered it if they didn't cut the clip of Amy Winehouse wanting the Next Lines round to continue after the time had ran out which resulted in this exchange between Amstell and team captain Bill Bailey:
SA: "They told you don't you ever come around here..."
BB: "Because you're a registered sex offender"

Overall however, this proved funnier than a middle aged man from Swindon wishing death threats on Chris Moyles, Phil Collins and so on.
