Setting Sun And Sun Pier

Today may be the first time I've actually watched a session of Prime Ministers Question Time, where the outgoing Prime Minister got a standing ovation. It actually made me realise how the country has been modernised during his time in the role as back in 1997 it was a novelty for me to have a laptop in the classroom which was given to me because of my Aspergers.
Of course it caused a bit of jealousy in class with some of the future Tesco employees claiming that they had "Windows 97" to intimidate me which to be fair was pretty easy back then.

Nowadays it's more or less commonplace for many people to know what's happening where in any place at any time and it's certainly progressed more or less since Blair entered Number 10. One siginificant point where I knew technology had made an impact was a notice to the entrance of the hall at secondary school around 1999 which asked pupils not to bring mobile phones in during exams. This was around the same time pagers were all the rage.

During the BBC's coverage I noticed another familiar face reading the headlines on South East Today being none other than Caroline Feraday. A woman whose career has taken her to Capital FM and BBC Five Live as well as a fling with Frank Skinner along the way. Now she's back where she more or less started 15 years ago as the regional news programme shares the same building with BBC Radio Kent. Of course back then the station wasn't based in Tunbridge Wells but in the nice surroundings of Sun Pier in Chatham.
Caroline reminds me a tiny bit of Lizzie, one of the third year radio students with her rather flirtatious grin everpresent.

However if I'm lucky enough I may get to have a look in at the Great Hall myself pretty soon, which I hope will give me an opportunity to come face to face with the likes of Geoff Clark!
