The Not So Great Outdoors

I spent the latter part of the afternoon having a gander at Glastonbury, nothing too special as expected. Despite an overdose of Paulo Nutini towards the end there were one or two stand out moments such as Lily Allen giving her take on "Heart Of Glass" and teaming up with Terry Hall for rendition of the Specials classic "Gangsters". Also on offer was a nice little offering from jazz saxophonist Soweto Kinch and a pregnant Lauren Laverne holding it all together.
To be honest though, most of the rock/indie based acts didn't sound too different on stage as they do on the records which is one of the main reasons why I'd be lesser enthusiastic to go to a festival of this sort. However I may make an exception in 2008 if Michael and Emily decide to stage the event for a second consecutive year as it would be a perfect way to finish my time at University.

Doctor Who was on top form tonight where we managed to find out that the main character doesn't even recognise his own theme tune. Dad even thought that the headquarters in the sky near the end of the episode looked very similar to that of Captain Scarlet.
Now there's another example of a series revival that failed due to poor scheduling. In this case a CGI remake of Captain Scarlet that was hyped to an extent and they ended up inserting it within the ITV Saturday morning show MOM. I'm sure they even rang up a Chinese takeway which went by the name of "Mr Ron".
