"They Can't Stop Us Laughing"

The passing of the one of if not the funniest man in the world has made me feel rather downhearted about the fact that I'll never be able to see him perform his act live in the flesh.
Then again I'll probably have heard most of the jokes before but I reckon I will have had a few drinks as well.

I managed to discover this rather short piece of audio from many years ago when I used to muck about with cuts from the Invicta FM 1990 jingle package and put what I thought were amusing soundbites within them. This particular one features Manchester's funnyman, not for those of a nervous dispostition.

Long time friend Frank Carson was interviewed from Lancaster on the ITV News where he struggled to respond to Mark Austin's questions about Bernard's jokes about minorities, and explaining how he always tried to defend himself by saying that people shouldn't take his jokes seriously. It's a rather tricky subject to draw the line upon although if anyone saw the comedians toe curling visit to Bombay a few years ago, his reaction to the place more or less ties up a few lose ends.

Quite a difficult documentary to watch without cringing.
