I've stumbled across a record that's been around for a couple of months but certainly needs further exposure. Dan Le Sac Vs. Scroobius Pip and "Thou Shalt Always Kill" is definitely one of the contenders for the best record of 2007 which manages to set a few things straight about popular culture and life overall, and has put me back on the ground over a few things.
The video can be seen here where the lead singer looks like a cross between Borat and Bullet Baxter from Grange Hill!
In this decade everyone seems to be putting otherwise average performers and public figures on huge pedestals with the word "legend" now a shadow of its proper meaning. The lyrics to this song highlight how ridiculous this can be with even the performers themeselves putting themselves up for the stick. Then again for someone who can't make their own opinions without hearing other peoples, I'm guilty of quite a few things mentioned in the song such as liking bands just because other people like them. Hopefully not as much now but it will always live on.
