Just a normal Friday night really, sat in front of the television and possibly irritating everyone downstairs with my laughter.
First up tonight was Steve Jones and "As Seen On TV" which wasn't spectacular although it wasn't too bad either and was easy to play along with.
Mum and Dad didn't seem to think so with Mum saying that she wanted me to watch it with her next week so I can help out with some of the questions.
One of the guests rang a few bells, that being Lauren Laverne.
That's who they should have got to replace Jo Whiley, having proven herself at XFM and 6 Music without being annoying.
She also comes across as Fearne Cotton's slightly more credible elder sister
and unlike Fearne and especially Jo, actually has a witty persona.
Lauren guesting this week wasn't really a surprise as she's co-hosted the Album Chart Show with Steve, or as fellow radio student Jake once referred to it infamously, "The Channel 4 Chart Show".
As mentioned on the last post, Jason Manford made a second appearance in my box on a special Best Of British edition of 8 Out Of 10 Cats featuring Rhod Gilbert, and Shappi Khorsandi as the guests.
I've forgotten most of the jokes that had me in stitches, although my favourite part was an old film from the early 80s involving a song about aliens landing in Northampton which sounded like something the RAH Band had rejected from one of their albums.
I was disapointed to see a joke being recycled from an earlier show (pavements being warm enough to fry an egg) although I suppose a lot of the comics who appear on both that show and Mock The Week get away with it all the time, judging by the amount of negative comments I've read about their DVDs.
As an aside it's worth mentioning the Big Brother trail during the break as Davina presented it from inside the studio this time round and me being oblivious (there's another of Davina's old shows) to the current series had noticed that there had been changes made to the set.
In this case it involved a rather large video screen amongst a black background with pink and blue neon tubes which bore a rather similar resemblance to Catchphrase in it's prime.
It may be furious but it certainly isn't fast in terms of getting the series done with, especially when putting a new set of no hopers inside.
The again whilst it may still be on our screens, at least the goings on aren't thrown in our faces on every media platform like they were 9 years ago.
That's left for Britain's Got Talent, proven to lead to severe consequences.
Good Night.
