"She Likes Red Lipstick"

Quite a few things planned for today, including delivering quite a big parcel addressed to my Dad's sister in Yorkshire, to the post office, and sorting out tonight's cooking which may involve a pork stew with paprika served with easy cook rice.

Chris Moyles was a good watch this morning where the guest this morning was noneother than Chipmunk who I haven't really seen before and looked rather like Fizzy, the cleaner from Bugsy Malone.

A really lovely fella though and he fitted into the shenanigans including Comedy Dave's game which involved him having to eat as many pineapple chunks in 30 seconds, blindfolded.

Dave however became the victim when he was left in the studio on his own after the time ran out on his turn which only really worked on the video streaming but was funny all the same.

The overall highlight was a new release by up and coming act Skint & Demoralised called "Red Lipstick" which sounded very reminscent of early 90s indie such as the Happy Mondays, The Inspiral Carpets and any other bands of a similar style who would be a familiar sight on ITV on many an Saturday lunchtime.

The lyrics aren't too bad either with the chorus going along the lines of
"She likes red lipstick, fish and chips, orange juice, and trips to the seaside"
.

Apart from the red lipstick, they've pretty much nailed it in terms of a rare instance of a record that I can actually identify with.

And it would sound really good listening to it at a seaside and all, even if it is overcast as I tend to associate records such as "She Bangs The Drums", and "Kinky Afro" with British beaches in not so brilliant weather, which I'd describe as overall bliss.

That would be playing during the day and towards sunset the mood would change to slightly more jazzy, soulful stuff such as "La Costa" by Natalie Cole, and of course the Al Jarreau cover of "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay".

Anyway less of the fantasising, more of the delivering.

That didn't sound right at all.
