Ever Snide Saturdays

Most of today has been spent burning more DVD-Rs which is a bit of a struggle considering it chooses when and when it doesn't want to burn discs, such as giving up mid way through burning and therefore wasting a disc.

Mum and Dad have gone with Concha and a few others to see "As You Like It" at the Globe, the advantage being that I get to do my own cooking again with the plan for tonight involving a delicious stew with diced steak with lasagne cooking powder, tomato puree and proper fusilli pasta.

Later on, Michael McIntyre's back with his Comedy Roadshow from Belfast where one of those watching in the audience happens to be Belfast born Christine Bleakley who will probably be subjected to many possibly deserved jokes about The ONE Show.

Oddly enough the show will be two years old as a continuous series this Thursday, the same day as Olly's 19th birthday although he's still in America.

The comic turns tonight include Kerry Goldiman who's appeared on a few Radio 4 comedy shows such as The News Quiz, and Patrick Kielty who can produce a mixed reaction but his stand up has had me laughing in the past, such as his appearance on series 3 of Apollo.

Before that, there's a fair dosage of rot preceeding both shows including Graham Norton's Totally Saturday which got criticised by Jonathan Ross last week on his Radio 2 show saying that "it made John Barrowman's show
look good"
.

There's an interview with John in the Radio Times about the new series of Torchwood which is being broadcast nightly next week on BBC 1 although the series has been cut down to 5 episodes despite being promoted to a bigger channel.

John describes it as if like they "were being punished" which in his case is pretty much justified for that attempt at a Saturday night show.

After Graham is the return of "Total Wipeout" which is the true Saturday night equivalent of groundhog day.

Once again I'd sum the whole schedule prior to Michael as
"Total Fucking Shite".

It's snide but very true.
