Progress And Parfitt

I made my way to the University of Kent campus after changing my doctor details and met up with Jamie, one of the membership officers for CSR-FM.

It's early days yet but things are looking pretty good as Jamie mentioned that they were wanting more specialist shows for the station and gave me the e-mails for the station manager and head of programming.

The head of programming's currently on holiday so after Mum's birthday in a couple of weeks I'll get in touch and things will start progressing.

It seems like a fun station as well and very vibrant.

With regards to radio in general, not too many people are happy about Fearne Cotton replacing Jo Whiley in her daytime slot on Radio 1.

I get the idea that they're made to listen against their will as I doubt it's worth moaning about.

Then again a couple of days ago I made a few similar comments about John Barrowman standing in for Zoe Ball this week on her Radio 2 Saturday slot although the option not to listen is still that simple.

It's better than setting up a Facebook group anyway, as it Parfitt or Ben Cooper would bother to pay any attention.

Which they should, bearing in mind they're part of a public service broadcaster.

Although the reasoning for Radio 1 now being referred to on air as "BBC Radio 1" is that certain individuals don't even know that Radio 1 belongs to the corporation.

Ignorant so and sos.
