Rewarding Returns

My visit to Canterbury College this afternoon was very enjoyable where I visited the new building for the first time and it really has been transformed.

The majority of the staff from when I left are still there and the lecturers were really happy that I had got a 2.1 for my University degree which was rather surprising as I'm sure quite a few College alumni have gone on to get similar results.

Then again a lot more of the yobs who have attended end up dropping out of courses after a month or so.

Overall it was really good to see everyone, quite a lot of whom I haven't seen since 2005.

Even better was when I had a look at the work done by some of the Media and Arts students in an exhibition and it's more than obvious that standards have gone even higher in the last couple of years with really impressive looking magazine articles, CGI animation projects and bizarre looking but well made displays.

As for tonight in this very warm weather I'm listening to Steve Jordan's 80s show on KCFM. It's not as good as it was when Rob Langley stood in over the last two weeks but the music isn't too bad and Steve's enthusiastic as always.

In the first hour, the records were interspersed with interviews from representatives of Hull FC where one of them happened to have one of Steve Jones' (Westminster alumni) old beds from Sport On Smoke many years ago.

It wasn't the one that sounded like Wonderwall that was the most well known.

As for tomorrow, I'll be listening to two more Westminster Alumni (or should that be one and a half) when Chris and Pete take to the airwaves on Hayes FM tomorrow morning.

Hopefully this week's show should give them a chance to launch themselves properly due to last week's show being overshadowed by Michael Jackson.

Whether it can completely distract me from Moyles on a long term basis is another story.
