The Back To Work meeting went OK and didn't drag on for too long.
It was a Powerpoint based seminar where I was in a room with others who were signing on and we were told the usual patronising stuff about it being difficult to find work because of the recession and so on.
However it was useful in terms of learning about the various options such as Job Trials which sounds like a great opportunity in giving a job a go and if it's not up to what I'm expecting, I can carry on signing on with the allowance.
As for today I'm reminiscing one of the finest events we have put on during the history of Smoke Radio, that being Smoke Aid which was actually the first big event for the station I took part in and really brought everyone together and brought the awareness of the station elsewhere as part of National No Smoking Day.
Memorable highlights included the outside broadcasts on the Street with Ross Goodlass's German character "Hanz", and Andy B dressing up as our the SU mascot "Smokey The Bear".
Listening back to it now it was evident that there was a buzz throughout the whole day but despite the large amount of excitement it really was only the beginning of many superb events done by the station.
It really has come a long way and will continue to go further in my absence.
Whilst I will also be going further.
Down the gutter.
