A rather less packed night at the Undercroft tonight possibly because of deadlines, and assignments that are due in this week.
Especially the first year radio lot as they've got there features due in tomorrow and this resulted in R Jade being unable to go on air tonight with her show. To be fair though she was working on both days this weekend so that's perfectly understandable with an assignment of this nature.
The only people who I knew that were present tonight were JC, and first year's Jamie, and Luke Shasha who was spinning the discs tonight.
I didn't stay for too long and headed back to the flat to watch tonight's edition of "Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle".
I didn't think this weeks was as good as the first despite it being based around television.
The show would be better suited to BBC Four judging by it's rather dark and subtle style and I think the sketches could be removed as most of them aren't that funny.
There were also a few utterances of a joke made famous on "This Morning With Richard Not Judy" with the punchline "28 years old I was" following on from a story about an act where you presumed a child was involved.
There were some gags I liked such as the one about the ONE Show's Adrian Chiles resembling "a talking toby jug filled to the brim with piss" and Stewart's jokes about Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Any Dream Will Do".
The show ended with a rant about Del Boy falling through the bar being "the funniest thing ever" which I can identify with as it's not really that funny.
Especially compared to the scene from the same show with the chandeliers as there's so many moments in the scene that cause hilarity in addition to the drop itself, such as Del and Rodders panicking when Grandad's about to start undoing the chandelier.
I've been impressed by the downloads for my Heart Attack posts over the last few days where the most popular downloads are the Devonair 1985 package montage by David Cousins, and the rather rude cut from the Radio 210 1980 Alfasound package.
With regards to the Devonair stuff, credit should really go to David Harber who managed to discover the rare cuts and put them together originally, although the master of the package is a bugger to get hold of as no one at Devonair thought to preserve the master.
The plan for tomorrow is to get the transcribing completed, and that's just about all I can do with regards to the dissertation at this stage.
Other than that, just an normal day really.
Good Night.
