"#This Is A Low"

Not a good day for Chelsea as we lost 1-0 away to Spurs. On the plus side Man U also lost 2-0 to Fulham after two of their players acted like idiots and got sent off.

I've just finished watching the final Saturday Night Takeaway of the series and as expected, it was pretty much watered down as always.

Although they didn't say it was to be the definitive final show, there were quite a few hints as both Ant & Dec were wearing black ties, which was unusual as they don't normally wear ties at all.
Plus all of the ad breaks were preceeded by cue dots at the top right hand corner of the screen which doesn't really happen in television at all now and I think may have been specially put in there intentionally.

The current series has had a reputation on getting Z-list celebrities on at any given opportunity but tonight they really went too far.
This took place in the first main item where a family had to answer questions about their grandmother with one of them being who her favourite recording artist was.

One of the possible answers happened to be Chris De Burgh and after they gave his name as there answer, the metal door lifted to reveal the nan with the bastard himself, to which I ended up screaming "NOOOO!".
Not in a theatrical manner but more of a laddish manner when the opposing team scores a goal.

This was the the rotten stone in the unpleasant fruit cake proving that the show which started off as this decade's answer to Noel's House Party has now turned into a clone of Jim Davidson's Generation Game.

Other items included the Musical Toadstools game where one of the dwarfs was one half of another "alleged comedy double act" that being Syd Little, who Ant joked that they went out and played paintball together.

I presume Ant always makes sure he keeps his goggles on.

The finale of Ant Vs Dec involved the teams battling it out performing medleys of two hit musicals. Dec's team performed Oliver! and Ant's did Grease.
The result was decided by a panel of three judges consisting of studio guest Lily Allen, and Dancing On Ice judges Ruthie Henshaw and Jason Gardner who was actually rather positive for a change.

Dec's team won and this resulted in the overall series score being a draw which meant that at the end of the show they took part in a Tin Can Alley face off which involved them battling out to knock the most tin cans with a ball.

After a tight contest Dec ended up winning for the 5th series running and it brought the series to a rather anti-climatic finish.

There was no mention that the series would be back next year, with Ant just saying "Join us again soon".

Overall the show's had a good run over the last 7 years but now would be an ideal time for it to rest, due to the fact that several items that made the show must see viewing in it's prime have now disappeared.

It's safe to say it's just about fallen into the category of "End Of The Pier".
