"Let It Shiiiiiiiine!"

We've well and truly made it and completed what has to be my favourite ever Smoke Radio marathon in the last three years since they began.

The last record we played was "Shine" by Take That as we couldn't find the ones we really wanted to go out on with one of them being "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey which has become one of my favourite ever records in the last couple of years.

Everyone got on really well and there was no backstabbing or strict rules implied onto us like the previous two years although there were only three members of the station management present throughout the day.

The first years did a top job of looking after things while the second years were in Central yesterday afternoon, particuarly Matt Garforth (from Leeds) keeping the Smoke Radio website up to date with the election results more quicker than the UWSU website!

Well done that boy!

Some of my highlights included Max DMC's singing, Jade Gebbie's uncanny resemblance to Janet Street Porter, and the most creative and original show of the night, that being the play written by the boys from Mjolnir In Your Ear, which I helped out with.

It was also good to watch the Red Nose Day events on TV this year after quite a long time and they did so well to raise £50 million on the night itself.

I was well impressed when they reached £33 million at around 9pm as that was the grand total from the end of the night in 2003.

It just goes to show that despite these tight times, people will donate their cash to such a great cause, although it helps that they broadcast some of the best television of the year on that night.

You'd think Children In Need would learn as they only raise around 18 million on the night each year.

"Do Something Different"? Piss off.

Overall the Red Nose shenanigans were good to watch though
and I taped a lot of it back at the flat so it will be well preserved
as you'd expect.

All the videos I made last night can be found on their dedicated playlist on Youtube but I found it a bugger getting to grips with making it.

It's because you have to highlight videos as you favourites by clicking on the plus button, then go to the page for your favourites on your profile before adding them to a playlist.

Load of nonsense really.

But good times.

The rest of the afternoon will involve PY on Jazz FM until 5, then a trip to Sainsbury's to buy a some supplies, and at 7pm I'll be down to the Underpants for the big 21st birthday bash for our spiritual winner in the election, Phil Harris.

And I see tonight as my way of sticking my middle fingers up at elected president Omar as I'm going to get absolutley smashed.
