Tuneless Hilarity

Tonight's final offerings were another two editions of Buzzcocks, this time from the Winter 2004 series.

The first one featured in Mark's words "the unwelcome return" of Sheila Ferguson as one of the guests, after a colourful appearance in the Autumn 2002 series where Mark got irritated with her rather large gob.

Later on in the year Sheila would be one of those taking part in the jungle for the fourth series of "Celebrity" although she made a return appearance to Buzzcocks on Mark Lamarr's second to last show where he finally managed to shut her up in the only way he knew how.

But not without being chased round the studio.

The second show was slightly more entertaining and had recent Xmas chart topper Gary Jules, and Wes Butters who at the time hosted Radio 1's Chart Show, whilst Phill's team had Dara O'Briain and Fatman Scoop.

The latter fell into the category of contestants who started taking the game too seriously and got really angry with Mark if he got a question wrong.

Some of the highlights included the Sorry No Refunds round where it revealed that Rolf Harris had to cancel a gig at a cricket ground because his accordion caught fire.

The video they showed in that round happened to be his rather dodgy 2000 release "Fine Day" which was his attempt at breaking into the dance music market.

Another part that made me laugh was when Gary got caught cheating during the intros round Phill provided the rather amusing line "Bad World!"

Despite being responsible for an otherwise dreary tune, Gary came across pretty well and with a good sense of humour throughout the show, although just about everyone was overshadowed by Fatman Scoop.

Moving onwards and I'm still bein kept up to date with Uni goss and controversial at that.

There have been problems with the elections as it turns out that 10 people voted twice, and there are rumours that the UWSU will be disregarded by the NUS because apparently, the newly elected president is a member of an extreme Muslim group.

If nothing is sorted out about this then I will make sure I will have a few words to say about this on my final show because they'll be nothing anyone can do as I won't be presenting there again.

And if they happen to be reading this, can you get it round your head that not everyone studying here has to follow your principles and if you don't like alcohol, then you don't have to fucking drink any.

It may not be the most intelligent statement but to enforce such a rule like that is just utter fucking nonsense.

Good Night.
