A More Relaxed Monday

I really do need some sort of "natural break" and for the first time in three years, I'm considering giving tomorrow night's drinking antics at the Undercroft a miss as I've been so busy going back and forth in the last few days and I want a bit of R&R tomorrow evening.

And also because there's a St Paddy's do at the Underpants on Tuesday which I may very well attend.

I was so tired tonight, that I fell asleep just before tonight's Dancing On Ice waking up just before Ray's performance 45 minutes later, but it's only really Donal's programme that I missed as I'm guessing they strung out the introduction due to there only being 4 skaters left in the competition.

This week's required element was the solo skate and all 4 of them managed to do pretty well.

However I'm hoping that viewers will start to take things more seriously this week as Coleen really has no place in next week's final and the judges made some valid points as her programme done to Shania Twain's "You're Still The One" wasn't really that inspiring.

The results take place in just under an hour and the good news is that it's the final of what I'd like to call "Britain's Got Talent On Ice", the item which has put me off watching the results show over the last few weeks, due to it's overall tackiness.

However I won't actually be seeing the results this week as Channel 4 have a special programme looking at Peter Kay's charity music videos despite the fact he hasn't recorded one this year.

Contributors include Gary Barlow who co-wrote Geraldine's hits from last year and on that note, one of the records I played yesterday at Phil's Undercroft do was the original version of "It Only Takes A Minute" by the Tavares, to which I started singing "It only takes a minute girl, to shoot my load" which got a few laughs.

This came from a joke made about Gary becoming a Dad for the first time in 2000 on Channel 4's 11 O'Clock Show where at the same time he was dropped from his record label as a solo artist.

Nowadays Gary seems to be a national hero of some sorts and he's always been really down to earth with a brilliant sense of humour, compared to Robbie who if you saw the Little Britain sketch on RND this Friday looked a tiny bit desperate.

With regards to music, it's always around this time of year that there are so many new catchy records around like the ones I've mentioned earlier such as Chipmunk, Calvin Harris, Flo Rida, and even the Saturdays cover of Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough".

Rather surprisingly "Islands In The Stream" has reached number one so whilst the Saturdays may have just missed out, at least a record in aid of Comic Relief has hit the top spot this year despite Flo Rida getting apologetic about being higher than the Saturdays.

Rather oddly, I think the Saturdays' release is better than Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones.

Here's hoping tomorrow's meeting with Ana won't quosh my enthusiasm although I can accept that I need to prioritise the diss with only 6 weeks left.

Probably less.

But that's not to say that I can't have fun full stop and it is possible to balance even if it does mean writing for 3 hours non stop.

In the words of Barrack Obama "Yes I Can!".
