"You've Done A Bloody Good Job"

Morning.

Not looking too good outside and probably just as well as I've planned a very lazy, staying in sort of day. Well to be honest I haven't really planned anything and I'll see what comes to mind.

One of the things I definitely plan to do later tonight, is following on from Withnail And I a couple of nights ago, I plan to watch another film from the Handmade stable from 4 years after Withnail, that being "Nuns On The Run" starring Robbie Coltrane and Eric Idle and directed by Jonathan Lynn who co-wrote "Yes Minister".

This film was more towards Handmade owner Denis O'Brien's liking as it was aiming to be an Ealing style comedy for the 90s although overall reception was pretty mixed and this was probably why it was the last film to be made by Handmade Films under Denis O'Brien and George Harrison.

It's still very funny overall.

Moyles is on as always where earlier they interviewed Martin Brundle who's among the BBC's F1 commentary team. This resulted in them playing the fantastic theme tune "The Chain" which will be brought back this Sunday when it all begins.

In fact the whole song is superb and one of those you have to listen to from the start until the end.

Moving onwards, GranadaGreg has uploaded another superb video onto Youtube of Andy Crane leaving the Broom Cupboard in April 1990.
The final programme that was shown was the popular Australian drama
"Round The Twist" and the final link consisted of several surprise appearances
with the most notable being Roger Finn from Newsround.

There's also the final, rather sentimental annoucement into that afternoon's episode of Neighbours.

As mentioned in the clip, Andy was leaving to join BBC 2's "The Travel Show" but later in the year TVS offered him a contract to present their Saturday morning show "Motormouth" for the ITV network and such an opportunity to present in that timeslot was impossible to turn down.

It was weird seeing someone heavilly associated with the BBC on ITV back then, but I thought Andy had a good go at Motormouth and also on
"What's Up Doc" although it's a shame he didn't really progress even further.

Nowadays he's a newsreader on Channel M in Manchester and as mentioned a few posts ago is also on Twitter as andycrane64.

Another one of television's finest.
