I've just been for my meeting with Ana about my dissertation and we came to an idea that the most coherent method of focus groups to fulfill my primary research quota would be to do two focus groups each with two different age groups.
One with people over 35 with one group being regular TV viewers on Saturdays, and another with people from the same age who prefer to do other things at that time of the week.
The other two would be the same but with people around my age.
It sounds pretty tricky but I'm sure it can all be sorted in the next week or so provided that people are up for it.
Also if anyone reading this hasn't done so already, please spare a bit of time to fill in my dissertation survey below. It would help me an awful lot and make things easy for me to analyze when the time comes.
Saturday Night Survey
I'm hoping that in two weeks I won't be sinking in terms of getting it completed but it's probably best not to rush things and continue to go through it steadily, whilst at the same time, keeping towards self directed deadlines.
When the Easter break comes it will be even easier as there will be fewer distractions on campus to allow me to analyse my findings.
Provided I've got sufficient material to work from and don't get bullied into using theories that I can barely understand.
As if they're related to my findings anyway.
It may be an idea to head back over to the flat as whenever I'm in the radio rooms I feel more pressured when trying to write things down.
Once again, the focus group planning may take up an awful lot of this week once I can get hold of the book about planning them from the library.
It may mean that everything else will take a backseat, apart from the radio show of course.
It's going to be quite a challenging month without question.
