I can't tell you how much I'm loving this weather from the comfort of my bedroom with the windows wide open.
Just being able to endure the odour of many garden barbecues and clear skies, for once! is just superb.
This kind of gives me an excuse to talk about the ice cream vans that can be heard going past mainly in the evenings, and the tune that they're chiming for some reason is
"Popeye The Sailorman". I can't look at the song in the most sensible manner for obvious reasons but I loved the animated series where Olive Oyl was in an army with a soldier called Alice who always spoke in a funny squeaky voice. One of Hanna Barbera's better offerings.
Our visitors from Colchester have arrived and we heard Alison's anecdote about meeting Maureen Lipman and her promising that she'd get to appear as a guest on "This Is Your Life". Oddly enough when the time came it didn't happen although Maureen happened to be present at the Great Hall on Tuesday when I went to visit BBC Radio Kent.
One thing I'll definitely never have is an "ology".
