No Excuse For Not Laughing

OK, so let's set the scene. It's just after Christmas, nearing the beginning of 2002, Ant & Dec have left SM:tv due to their Pop Idol commitments in favour of the wooden James Redmond, and Channel 4 have announced they are pulling the plug on The Big Breakfast.
The presents I got were a back catalogue of Bernard Manning videos and having watched all of them I'm rather disapointed that the same jokes are repeated again and again.

In the long term this leads to six months of depression letting stupid things get to me, with the passion for what I really want to be doing down the plughole because of this.
I really wish I had developed other interests back then but to be honest I wouldn't have been able to stick to them because of all the reasons written above.

But as of now I still manage to find the time to try something new and quite often really stupid. I've just made a start on re-reading "The Gospel According To Chris Moyles" and reading it out loud as well trying to get myself into the saviour's frame of mind. And to be honest it's impossible to do without cracking up because Chris is brutally honest about his first experience of ringing up a radio station and how desperate they were with their Christmas Day competition of "Guessing The Christmas Song".

If you're a member of an amateur dramatics club, when getting a script for a play you'll be acting in, reading the script aloud in your spare time is the best way to learn not just your lines but the entire dialogue. I've never done it myself in all honesty but I reckon that it would make things a hell of a lot speedier.

Any excuse to join the Westminster Drama Society next year.
