Tom, one of the third year students on the radio course once commented on a photo of the Smoke Radio team at last years SRAs saying that it was "the future of British Radio".
Definitlely the case when listening to Ken Bruce in the last couple of days with a certain Mark Jackson making sure the Scotsman pressed the right buttons for Lynn Bowles' traffic report!
I can't get through a day without listening to Popmaster which even after all these years is still addictive. I may be tempted to ring up to have a go myself as I normally get an average of 30 points. I reckon it's because it's a simple format which is well produced on air and because it's on a subject I'm very dear to!
Apart from that my listening schedule today also consists of Grooveline on Blast with another Scotsman at the helm, two in fact as Stephen's joined by a guy called John who made a name for himself spinning jazz funk throughout the Highlands. Should be a really interesting listen in terms of both music and accents.
