Oh I'm excited about this, Tony Blackburn is to join KMFM presenting a show that will be going out on Sunday afternoons broadcast on all of it's stations around the county!
This really shows how the network has evolved in the last 10 years and despite a few rough patches it's now understanding of what can make great radio with programmes like the rock show on Fridays and the dance show on Saturdays.
It's a far cry from the uninspiring sound of 106 CTFM almost 10 years ago now, and most of the guys there have really come a long way bringing in a few pros such as Rik Scott and Tim Stewart, the latter of whom being my equivalent of a "bed covers DJ" when listening to him on Invicta FM back in 1993.
What all three of those people mentioned have in common is that they have a love of jingles!
Tim Stewart being one of the key figures in making sure that Invicta's 1990 package from Century 21 was perfect in terms of punch and pronunciation, and Rik having one of the most recognisable imaging voices heard on radio stations throughout Europe.
And they all seem like really lovely fellas too!
