I'm bloody glad I'm back here in London as the sorting out for the submissions has been chaotic. Little pieces of required paperwork etc have gone missing and not everyone can be in the same place at the same time. Looks like an early visit for me into Central London this morning as so I can ensure that everything gets handed in properly.
But the problem of everyone in the same place at the same time was something myself Chris and Pete were "discussing" shall we say, last night and how favouritism gets in the way of people who really can do a top job. Of course that's a common occurence in working environments but at the same time you need to make sure that those people are pulling their weight and in all respects, I'm not sure if the guys running the station are fully aware that I'm trying to be laid back but involved at the same time.
But they also understand where I'm coming from like no one else has although even Ricky has been asking me to make sure that the new comittee is bonding well together.
Having a long interest in radio does have it's setbacks but I'm determined to pull through and I'm sure a few polite phone calls will provide reassurance as I really don't like to be one sided.
I just want to see people rewarded for creativity and not licking backsides and I know that in the long term, creativity in any shape or form, gets you further.
I've let people's discouraging comments get to me for too fucking long.
