The timing for my visit on Friday couldn't be more interesting as the BBC have suspended all phone in competions from tomorrow as a result of the increased amount of editorial problems resulting in fake winners.
The way I see it has affected how I would deal with making sure that everything that I say or do on air is genuine and having been involved in similar incidents myself last year
I know that it doesn't pay if you bullshit through a link, and the quote from Jono Coleman as mentioned on an earlier blog post is spot on.
This goes as far as commercial radio with their Christmas "Top 500" countdowns
and I know now that their definitely isn't a "lucky line 99".
On a personal note this is going to have an effect on jobs within the corporation including Joey who gets the callers sorted for Ken Bruce's Popmaster.
Not to a severe extent hopefully, but I'm now fully aware that mistakes are unacceptable and that similar incidents on any TV or radio programmes should not be glossed over.
However for now I need to continue sorting out audio and making sure everything's packed to go up to London tomorrow. Right, that's entry forms, plastic wallets, cheques, CDs. I may as well take the whole bedroom.
