Kandi Floss

I've been going through all my Hed Kandi compilations and adding them to my hard drive and there's plenty of stuff on there that didn't see the light of day with wider audiences for up to 5 years since being featured on Mark Doyle's stunning compilations.
This include "Destination Unknown" by Alex Gaudino, "Nasty Girl" by Inaya Day and Stonebridge who were probably Hed Kandi's first major success story in the mainstream.

Doyle never stuck completely towards trends and always put a few classic tracks on the Disco Kandi and Disco Heaven compilations such as a brilliant remix of "Down That Road" by Shara Nelson from 1993 and Francois K giving a brilliant spin on "High" by the
Lighthouse Family.

I can't wait until I reach my "Back To Love" compilations featuring several other vintage gems such as "Why" by Carly Simon and "Cross The Tracks" by Maceo and the Macks.
The latter I remember hearing on the show of all shows "The Carwash" and has to be the most enthusiastic I've ever heard Peter Stewart talk about any record! To be honest I wasn't as impressed at the time as it sounded like the same guitar riff over what sounded like the noise a telephone would make when left off the hook.

After listening back to my show from last Fresher's I've finally made a start on writing a Word document of notes for what could be possible things to say on air come September. I won't give anything away but without being controversial there are things about Uni that just have to be said so it won't feel bad for anyone starting at the same time.

A good tip for scriptwriting or cue writing to an extent is to allow the font to look like how you want the words to be said and I've written mine in the Rockwell font for obvious reasons!
The visit to Radio 1 showed that there's absolutley nothing wrong with bringing a script on paper to do your bulletins with Dominic Byrne being a prime example.
Once again there's that old saying "Whatever floats your boat". Just a task of making sure everyone is in that very same one.
