Hotter Than July, In July

A blatent attempt at a Stevie Wonder reference gives a hint to what's about to come in this blog post. With slightly brighter conditions outside hopefully it's a sign of what's to come both physically and metaphorically.

I went into Canterbury this afternoon to see what was going on in the Dane John Gardens. In this case it was an African vocal group similar to Ladysmith Black Mambazo performing to a rather sparse audience possibly because of the smoking ban introduced today. Oddly enough there are fewer smokers on my radio course than there were on my college courses so I won't expect to see many changes as far as social activities go.

Speaking of blazes I've found out a bit more about the damage on the Harrow Campus and it appears that journalism, fashion and fine art have been heavilly affected resulting in a closure of J-Block until further notice. I hope Matthew's office with the photos
of Dale Winton and Scott Mills haven't been affected.
Nothing has been said about M-Block in the statement so it looks as if that part of the campus is still safe although rather empty.

I've been texting Kim in Sunny Blandford about it for most of the evening about that and the fact I'm avoiding the Diana memorial concert mainly because of the involvement of a certain Rod Stewart! The man who had the nerve to cover Tom Waits' "Waltzing Matlida" and Van Morrison's lovely "Have I Told You Lately".
