The Great Big Audio Transfer

I've been up in Studio 6 since around 8:30am where I've been transferring the MDs with the old Alfasound jingle tapes on them into MP3.

I'm now up to Volume 15 which is around the time when Alfasound starting working with JAM in the early 90s with such packages as County Sound Premier resung from
JAM's "The Only One" package as done for WNBC in New York, which by that time had turned into WFAN, a sports station, with Don Imus remaining on breakfast.

I happen to have a rare demo for a custom package made for WFAN by Century 21 in 1988 used to launch the station which was called "Imus In The Morning". It wasn't included on the CDs released by David Arnold when he started repping them in the UK but some cuts from the package were used on Ireland's 2FM in 1989.

I may upload the demo when I get back to the flat.

Other demos I've listened to include a composite package for another station in Ireland, Century Radio a now defunct station not to be confused with the GMG stations in the UK with the same name.
Although I've heard that they've now been changed to Real Radio which isn't too surprising as they've been using the same jingles for the last year or so.

I reckon it will be a long day up here, but I hope the result will be worth it in the end.
