A Solid Week Unsober

Just before this afternoon's Countdown I watched the first few minutes of ITV1's
"Alan Titchmarsh Show" which proves that he really is the sort of person
fitting in as an icon for housewives.

It irritates me how he refers to the programme as "The A.T. Show" which is probably a bit of a shame that Terry Wogan doesn't co-present it with him.

Anyway, the great broadcaster is entertaining daytime audiences on Channel 4 with the second series of "Wogan's Perfect Recall" which I've more or less become attached to, now that there's a lot more time on my hands. Definitely proof that the old pros can work with new formats and from what I've heard, they're recording three times the amount of episodes this year, than in the last series, to fill in the gaps left by Paul O'Grady.

As for the Smoke Radio night at Area next week, it appears that Fiz is the headline act which means that it it won't matter who's on before as the night will finish in style with a top selection of tunes ranging mainly from current garage and R&B with a few classic dance tunes thrown in.

The next few days look set to be rather raucous actually as tomorrow I'm heading up to Pippa S.T, Chris Belson, and Holly's new home in Tuffnell Park for their "Postmas" party, Monday sees the final year radio lot and a few others taking part in "Pub Golf" stopping of at various holes on the Met line finishing in the Undercroft, and on Tuesday I'm meeting up with Joey for a drink at The Horse & Groom, a pub often occupied by many people from Radios 1 and 2.

As for tonight I'll be watching the last in the series of Apollo with Russell Howard as the compere hopefully making up for the gig I missed of him at Wembley in December last year.

Also appearing is Jo Brand, who hasn't really made me laugh that much but it's good to see her returning to stand up rather than presenting unsuccsesfull quiz shows.
I mean, who can forget "Nobody Likes A Smartarse"?

Let's say I'd prefer to forget.
