Returning To Form

Whilst Refreshers Week will kick off officially on the 19th, quite a lot of us are back already and Alice being the lovely girl she is, has allowed us to broadcast our shows from next week if we wish. I imagine Lottie's said the same for all the daytime people but the emphasis has been to put as much energy as we can into our shows.

I'll do my best although I'll probably do my covers special next week rather than Refreshers Week as it will give me more time to profile a featured album on the show for January from the week after. Although as I write this I don't know what that will be!

It's also exciting times as the Undercroft bar will be re-opening on Monday and will once again be open until 1am, so here's hoping they have someone decent spinning the records.
Or in Mattie Bennett's case, dragging and dropping the MP3s.

I hope there will be a decent turn out and give this usually dreary time of year a much needed kick up the backside, although we more or less did that towards the end of last year with our Xmas do at the Undercroft.

Here's hoping this Refreshers Week doesn't turn into a week of overall laziness and signs of giving up towards the end.

I'm in a rather smug mood as well because from what I've heard the second year radio lot not only have to do a critical report for both their news and magazine programmes, but also have to analyse a major news story as covered by different radio stations over the course of 48 hours.

They seem to be piling on the workload this year and another reason why I'm glad I didn't end up having to miss two years. Then again I never really missed one year as I got the theory modules out out the way but I should have thought a bit harder about that, by saving the best modules until the third year.

But then there would be the issue of them clashing with practical lectures so let's just say I'm happy with how things went and the results weren't too bad.

Overall, roll on next Monday!
