Yet another video posts featuring two television heroes, well of my generation anyway.
Actually probably an older generation but anyway this is from "Family Challenge" from the Family Channel on Sky before shortly before the channel turned into "Challenge" on it's own.
This clip features Andy Crane handing over to ex Disney Club presenter Andrea Boardman and into the titles of "Through The Keyhole" from the era when Yorkshire Television made the show.
I thought this version of the theme was better not least because it's one of those that actually involves the title being sung to the actual melody, and there were also the rather synthy stings that preceeded Lloyd Grossman pottering round a celebrities house.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but I can remember being rather disapointed when Denis Norden on "Alright On The Night" mentioned a non-existant out-take of Lloyd Grossman and his crew getting arrested for breaking into someone's house and resulting in either Mum or Dad explaining that it was a joke, but I'm sure it's a sight a lot of people would have wanted to see.
With regards to the catchphrase shown in the clip it reminds me of when Roy Walker appeared on "It's Only TV But I Like It" where they had a similar catchphrase only that it was "Murray Walker" represented by a Murray Mint walking.
It took place in the endgame and the contestant was stumped so Roy helped out by saying "It's a famous sports commentator" and the contestant was still struggling so Roy said "You can suck it" resulting in the response "Dickie Davies?"
I was chatting to Jade earlier this week about how her friend had got the DVD game of Catchphrase for Christmas and Jade said that she may buy it pretty soon.
I may do the same, especially as it uses the original theme tune, and maybe we could have a rather drunk game of it ourselves replicating that night in the first year where myself, Tim Pryor, Josie and Aussie Ashlee did more or less the same with the VHS version I happen to own with hilarious consequences.
