The Perfect Deviation

Before I start, thank god this isn't a video post because I would probably be doing it naked in the circumstances I'm in.

I really can't believe it's only ten minutes to 11pm as I am absolutely wasted as a result of tonight's "Pub Golf" contest which in all honesty I never stuck to the rules of.

If I remember correctly (because I'm too pissed to remember anything) we started off at the Undercroft until a late arrival from Sam the organiser of said event and wisely decided to go straight to the Yates in Harrow rather than the Kenton Golf Course as there's no way they'd let us in there.

At the time I was drinking rather slowly but this wasn't to last.

After Yates we went to what used to be known as the Rat And Parrot in Harrow near the place formerly known as Woolworths, and then we went on to the Fat Controller where by this point I was talking to Sarah about my admiration for Sussex DJ lengend Terry Garroghan, and Roy Walker.

From the Fat Controller we crossed the road to Harrow Spoons and then got a bus to the Beefeater in Kenton where on the way to the pub I started singing Brenda Russell's "In The Thick Of It" after chatting to Phil H about Trevor Nelson's Soul Show on Radio 2 and his appreciation for the woman who wrote Oleta Adams's "Get Here".

In fact I'm listening to "In The Thick Of It" as I type and Brenda can deliver it a lot better than I can.

The Beefeater was an excuse for those to get some grub down them although I resorted to "borrowing " other people's chips as I was too pissed to care about what I was eating.
They were fine about it luckily and there was a lot worse to come.

After that we returned to the Undercroft where I spent a lot of time on the quiz machine where myself and all the Manchester United supporters (Chris, Tudor, Denis, Spikey G) were glued to either my attempts on Bullseye or Millionaire with the pre-2007 rules in terms of monetary progression.

As expected Fiz and Sammy C were DJing with tunes such as "Set You Free" by N-Trance and "Let Me Be Your Fantasy" by Baby D and they became a topic of conversation with Impey and Dani Farthing because of the use of "klaxon noises" halfway through each track.

Although anyone who knows me knows that a klaxon should sound like this.

In all honesty, that sound is music to my ears, more than "Everyday" by Incognito.

Edmonds=Genius.

As if things couldn't get any worse I came out of the Croft in a dreadful state poking my eye in one of the bushes and finding out that I'd lost my mobile.

Luckily despite the high turnout the bouncers let me in again and it turned out that Sarah the co-bar manager had rescued it and I managed to give those waiting in the queue a sigh of relief including Alex Bedford and Danny Robs.

My right eye is probably bleeding as I write this post but with Vivienne McKone playing in the background I'm not too bad at all.

Hopefully tomorrow I should be a lot more sober, especially as I'm meeting up with Joey in Central that evening.

Good times assured.

Good night.
