I'm feeling rather down as I right this as there were a few slightly derogatory comments in the last post about overall spite.
That may have been a bit uncalled for, but it's more or less a hint as not to attend such dos when it's less likely that you'll get tipsy and therefore be fed up of everyone around you.
The irony being that I'm about make my way over to the Junction in Harrow where it's Pound A Pint as always. Hopefully they'll be at least someone I know down there as the demand for cheap booze is difficult to resist.
I musn't forget my ID either as I don't want to end up like Landers did a few months ago.
I've still not finished my television tangent yet, but for the benefit of television obsessives it will be worth the read as even at it's current stage it's almost 5000 words long.
That's just bonkers, so provided I get the right sources (just a stupid unfunny in-joke from earlier) writing the actually dissertation won't be a pain.
I've just spent a couple of hours in a meeting for the proposed comedy show on Smoke Radio which we've decided to turn into a sketch show format and with a lot of ideas floating about.
The only people I knew there were Charles who came up with idea, co-host Dave and Jade but everyone else was up for it and knew quite a bit about good sketch comedy and topical humour from the likes of Chris Morris and Adam & Joe.
Some of the suggestions were a bit near the knuckle with one of them involving setting up a fake knitting society. I wasn't too sure about that so they changed it to a bogus porn film audition which would be a lot funnier and doesn't come anywhere near my interest of simple enjoyable activities.
Excuse me!
We went on for quite a while but we hope to make this a regular thing in order to get things off the ground and come up with a name.
Charles initially suggested "Radio LOL" although we may fall into the trap of text speak which in the case of "wknd@STV" wouldn't really be the right route to go down.
I'm not sure about the next meeting being on a Sunday evening, partly because the library is the last place I'd want to be on that night and also because it means missing Dancing On Ice!
Overall it should lead to good results and we haven't been pressurised into coming up with ideas for sketches as such.
As for now I plan to lighten things up a bit ahead of tomorrow's possible slating with my Dissertation Supervisor, by having a few drinks at the Junction.
If I can get in that is.
