Pretty much a quiet night, spent finishing off last night's chicken stew proving that the supreme powder was the right idea as it reminds me of the ones that Mum makes back in Canterbury.
After that was tonight's edition of the Krypton Factor where at the end Ben revealed that next weeks edition would be the last of the heats before the semi-finals commence.
That new assault course is still winding me up as why they would dump a perfect camera friendly course in favour of one that looks like it was hastily built in a wood?
The main priority for tomorrow is to deliver an envelope back to an old friend in Canterbury which I may do at around 11am when the halls staff decide to test the fire alarms for some ridiculous reason.
I may go into halls reception with a rape alarm at some point and just leave it going off being completely oblivious to everyone. That will give the staff a taste of their own medicine.
My next visit to Canterbury will be on the 20th of this month although the only problem is that the night before will be the Richard Herring gig that I've been anticipating for quite a while.
I reckon it may be an early start on the Friday as my appointment is at 9:15am but I've travelled to Canterbury at antisocial hours in the past this semester so it shouldn't really be a problem.
Right now Jamie and Jamieth (pronounced Jammeth) are on with their Show 25 programme on Smoke with some pretty good tunes including a dub reggae tune related to the snow that's been happening this week.
I'd prefer it if they didn't adapt the Zane Lowe method of saying which listeners are
"on board" but I think they doing it in an irreverant manner judging by
the nature of the show.
I've even felt then need to make a rather snide remark about ITV's coverage of the football last night.
With regards to my own show next week I doubt I'll make it Valentine's themed although there's a rather good Bubblegum tune I've lined up which happens to be a cover of a top 80s soul ballad done by a lesser remembered girlband.
They even went to the extent of adding "2K" to the title.
As an aside I've found a rather interesting site, well not really a website as such
but an archive of vintage radio recordings mainly of the old pirates but there's a few stuff from the BBC including the first ever show from Radio 1 with Tony Blackburn and Arnold the dog.
In addition to that there's a few bits and pieces from Irish stations in the 80s such as Radio Nova and Kiss FM Dublin.
As the downloads are pretty slow in halls from that site, I may spend Saturday in the library downloading them whilst rummaging through all the videos as usual.
Good productive times.
