However I ended up waking at 6:50pm just over an hour before air, and I hot footed it to M-Block immediately.
To make things more complicated, the studios were empty and Max DMC was nowhere to be seen so after getting the green light from Alice, I went on air at around 7:30pm for a slightly extended show with some extended soul gems to fill the time.
These included the full length version of Curtis Mayfield's "Move On Up", "Just A Touch Of Love" by Slave and one I've been longing to play on the show for such a long time, Idris Mohammed and "Could Heaven Ever Be Like This".
Of course my favourite "long 'un" has to be a late 70s Northern Soul gem by Barbara Pennington who's not too well known but a brilliant vocalist.
The song being "24 Hours A Day" and will definitely be one for the final show.
I hope Max is OK although he did mention to me last week that he was pretty tight for cash and needed a job pretty soon so it looks as if things have made a mark.
The rest of the show went OK, with a rarity from EWF's "Electric Universe" album, a stunner from Jazztronik, and the original version of "Kingston Town" by Lord Creator.
And as you'd expect, I did lay into Paris Hilton as she recorded a similar sounding song, although I tried my very best not to mention her name on air.
Not that I'd get done for it, but because I'm fed up with her presence.
After the show I headed to Sainsbury's to buy some extra things that Phil asked me to buy for Dani's do, only to bump into the man himself along with Sarah, one of Annabel's friends.
We then headed over to the house where a lot of Danielle's mates were present as well as her brother Tom who I met last summer, and her Mum who's quite a mover.
A few of Tom's mates from Eastbourne were present who were Greg and Duncan, one of them got rather tipsy towards the end of the night, and Shana and a few of the fashion girls and guys were there too.
Denis and Barry's Irish mates Colin and Jay were also there whilst Tudor was looking after the music that got played. And there was also Annabel and even Bracey was there too.
Quite a lot of those names and a few others can be seen below;
Dani and her rather delightful mum.
Stewart, always one to ruin a photo.
Chappers pops by for a short while.
Bracey and the girls.
Tom and the Eastbourne Boys.
Intoxicated Annabel.
Dani's mum struts her stuff with one of the other guys.
The two Phils.
The birthday girl proves she's never too weak to blow.
And here she is again with Shana and Annabel.
Tonight proved that I didn't need to be full on booze to enjoy myself and it was good to see the front room full of people boogieing about.
However the highlight of the night came when Phil Landers arrived and decided to have a go with the punchbag in the kitchen where he ended out taking his eye out.
Well not really that extreme but it was a good laugh.
The video should be up later.
After midnight when Dani officially turned 21 things got a bit more chaotic as the booze started to flow out of control.
I then decided to head back as I'm starving, I want to see last night's Brits and I aim to be in the radio rooms tomorrow as it appears I can't leave a computer to record unattended without some idiot switching it off.
I'm aware that the second years will be starting the music show pilots but surely one computer terminal won't hurt.
As I've got an early start tomorrow, I may have another lie down, although I need to make sure I wake up before 8pm so I don't miss the much awaited Richard Herring gig.
Anyway, the Brits are calling.
