I'm now up to the third album from the Hull band "0898" as released in 1992 and was the last to feature Briana Corrigan on vocals.
It's also worth mentioning the second album from two years earlier which includes a sequel to "I Love You (But You're Boring)" called "I Hate You (But You're Interesting) which is in a similar vein containing really good use of stereo effects and random sounds.
Still reading Ant & Dec's biography I've read about the amount of complaints their second series of "The Ant & Dec Show" from irate parents such as one about Leslie Grantham's appearance "because he was a convicted murderer".
Shortly after, the duo now with their own production company switched to Channel 4 to make their own evening show "Unzipped" which wasn't too bad but rather poor in places.
One item that got complaints was when Ant read out a fake letter of complaint from a "Mr Peter Enis".
With the pop careers now behind them the duo made random appearances on television such as guest hosts on the Big Breakfast and even presented an edition of The National Lottery Draw, which all lead up to the launch of SMTV Live and CD:UK in Autumn 1998.
Even in the early days the duo could end up in hot water such as when Dec back anno'd a Fat Les video by saying "That's the Fat Lezzer's in action....".
Although the first few shows were dreadful, the programme went on to become a success and with Zoe and Jamie now departed from Live And Kicking, the show went onto become even bigger with guests such as Jamiroquai, Boy George, and Graham Norton adding to the fun.
In addition to that, writers Richard Preddy and Gary Howe managed to get their old mates Paul Whitehouse and Mark Williams to appear on the programme and that proved that it really was a big deal to get on that show as a guest.
Back in 1986 the Pet Shop Boys refused to wear paper bags over their heads on
"Get Fresh" and 13 years later they were asking Ant & Dec if they could appear
in an episode of "Chums".
Then again Neil Tennant did go to the same secondary school as Dec, as well as Sting who also made a few apperances unsurprisingly.
Looking back at it all I'm surprised Live And Kicking put sod all effort into competing with Ant, Dec and Cat back in 1999 when Steve Wilson and Emma Ledden took over as the presenters.
Whilst there were new presenters, the format of the show barely changed with items such as "Hit Miss Or Maybe", the "Hot Seat" and even the agony uncle were still on the programme although this was on an even lower scale compared to Zoe and Jamie.
And whilst Ant & Dec got the likes of Sting, The Fast Show and Jamiroquai to make fools of themselves on their show, Live & Kicking insisted to get the likes of Phil Collins in for a self indulgent jamming session with presenter Steve Wilson on the piano.
Although I had a TV in my bedroom by then, my younger sister still watched the BBC's offering being the rather miserable so and so she was, and can remember an interview with Meera Syral when a smart arsed audience member asked if when making "Goodness Gracious Me" were the cast "worried about being racist?".
Stuff like that made me wonder why the BBC hadn't bothered to move on after all these years.
SM:TV had even poached two of Live and Kicking's comedy duo "The Men In Trousers" as writers on the show with Ben Ward and Gez Foster helping to come up with the idea for the "Chums" sketches.
Live and Kicking in desperation hired painful Australian comedy duo "Supergirly" halfway into the series and resorted to showing episodes of the Simpsons within the show which didn't work at all.
And that's not saying that Pokemon on SMTV was any good either but at least it gave you an excuse to have a glass of orange and a piece of toast with marmalade.
I know I keep saying it but I am wating for someone to write a book about the history of Saturday Mornings on UK television, which I'm certain will please many a TV obsessive.
Me being one of the worst.
I'll continue with the reading, and here's hoping that I finish it by tonight.
And if not, it's not like I've got anything else reserved this weekend.
