A rare appearance from Jim 'Partytime' Chapman
It was a pretty good night, things really got going after 11pm although as mentioned yesterday there weren't many radio lot about apart from those spinning the discs.
Matt from Leeds was behind the bar however, and said that yesterday's STI awareness day went well although he was thrown in at the deep end by being asked to go on air first, after only just arriving at 11:30am with half an hour before airtime.
It all went well however, and will be great for this year's SRA Station Entry.
The music was pretty good with a rarity from Truth Hurts and Rakim being played at one point which brings back a few memories of just before my first visit to Venice in 2002.
There was also a few more mainstream urban classics pleasing our audience such as "Lapdance" by N.E.R.D., and Snoop Dogg dropping it, as well as a few current pop tunes from Katy Perry and Kid Cudi.
I stuck around until around 1:30am when they started playing Lady Gaga.
Steven's probably going to kill me for doing so but it wasn't because of that song I left.
Just 'cause I was rather knackered and only had two VKs so I wasn't too tipsy.
As for today, I'm heading into Central and to Prezzo's to meet up with my Mum where she will bring my mail over from Canterbury.
Some of it should be welcoming, with the exception of what I expect to be a bloody great credit card bill. I've managed before though and if I lose 7 stone I'm sure I'll gain it back pretty quickly.
I may spend the remainder of the day afterwards in the radio rooms for a couple of hours to get some iPlayer dubbing done although it's probably going to be dead up there anyway.
I don't think I've been up there on a late Friday afternoon for a long time now, not since I used to present there on Fridays last year.
With all the fuss about the Brits, I don't understand why in the Radio 1 sponsored category of Best British Breakthrough act, Scouting For Girls are in there, when most of there biggest hits came out in 2007.
It's not like they were too late to have been entered last year, as this year bleeding Alexandra Burke is up for the Best British single.
The awards take place on Wednesday, at the same time as my Soul Show which is convinient, so tape the awards, and that way you can fast forward through the the lesser than impressive performances.
Actually it's quite a good line up including Take That, U2, and Girls Aloud so I doubt it will be that rubbish.
I may as well get a drink as I need a bit more waking up.
