Sharing The Achievement

Most of this afternoon/early evening was spent at the Undercroft with the "Fitch" team from the second year Music Radio module.

Dave Sharp was with us for quite a bit of the time and we chatted about various things such as who would want to take on the role of hosting a chart countdown for Smoke and Dave's own views of his past life at Radios 1 and 2 including when David Jacobs was told that his daily show was to be dropped just five minutes before going on air.

Also present were most of the second year TV lot who had just finished their live studio module including Keeley's housemate Michael who was also my flatmate last year.

And not forgetting Sam Taylor whose show I must get round to listening to sometime as it sounds rather witty.

Here they all are:

Myself and J-Dawg

The main protaganists and lecturer Dave Sharp on the left.

Keeley and Joe (in the reverse order)

Alice and Joe

A non-plused Potty.

Sam and Alice

Michael and Keeley

Quite a lot of them had left by around 6:30pm leaving just me Potty, Alice and Sam where we chatted about various things including what we really thought of the SU which I'll avoid mentioning on this site.

We left at around 7:30pm but work was far from over for Lottie and Alice as they had to go back up to radio and schedule shows for the weekend.

It's definitely the most unenviable part of that job in the Smoke hierarchy although they'll probably be rewarded for their efforts at the awards by being given a DAB radio or something similar.

I found it rather shocking that Ricky had never owned a DAB radio before receiving his at the end of the second year, although in my case it's nothing special at all as I've owned my Bug for nearly 5 years.

The plan for tonight is to do some more rummaging and have a gander at various documentaries such as the Heroes of Comedy programme devoted to Bernard Manning, and the Blood On The Carpet documentary about Matthew Bannister's regime at Radio 1.

Expect reviews in due course.
