Well this isn't good news. According to Digital Spy, ITV have axed Angus Deayton as the host of Hell's Kitchen which is due to return in the Spring.
This was because of arguments between him and head chef Marco Pierre White in the last series and ITV Productions had to decide whether to remove either him or Marco which is understandable, because Gordon Ramsay's original replacements were a disaster.
I'm hoping that Deayton's replacement has the same sort of irreverence needed for the show that made it so different from other celebrity based shows and added the humour that helped it stand out.
I know it's a lazy suggestion but Alexander Armstrong would fit the bill perfectly.
It's rather quiet up here in the SADiE room but hopefully things will change as the day goes on.
I don't plan to spend all week up here as there's a lot I want to get done for the dissertation, and hours of rummaging for my own written documents of a less academic (but still possibly dull) nature on my favourite areas of television.
It's just a bit of fun really and ideal way of killing time as opposed to enduring a load of stupid in jokes from other people on the course.
It's all going to get heated at some point if I'm not careful as there have been several times I've just wanted to lash out at individuals to tell them that I'm not interested in who's shagging who on campus, or obsessions with Pete Docherty.
I don't go on about bleeding Al Jarreau, or The Rippingtons because I can respect the fact that barely anyone will share the same enthusiasm.
Although deep down it's a bit of a shame.
Anyway, life goes on. Well for the next few months anyway.
