"# When You're Chewing On Life's Gristle, Don't Grumble, Give A Whistle!"

So I guess we're all familar with Party Ben's mash up of Beyonce's
"Single Ladies" and the theme to The Andy Griffith Show that has
all the whistling, as played constantly by Chris Moyles.

If you're fed up with that, you won't want to hear this; "Whistler's Delight" by DJ Riko which was brought to my attention by second year radio student Jake Franks just over a year ago.

Originally released in late 2005, this is a unique blending together of various songs with whistling in them, ranging from Peter Gabriel's "Games Without Frontiers", "Centerfold" by the J Geils Band, "Wind Of Change" by the Scorpions and of course the tune that Beyonce's been blended with.

Of course this was a year before Peter, Bjorn and John came up with this decade's anthem for mouth music but it was enough to be included in Radio 1's Festive 50 for 2005.

I wonder what the late John Peel would have made of it?

It turns out that the Muff Murfin interview is actually being broadcast on the 12th of March which is the day before Red Nose Day and our 24 hour broadcast.

I hope to be involved with that in one way or other and more or less know exactly what I'd like to be doing.
