Sync Stinks

Just had some proper conchiglie pasta with the rest of last night's pork stew.

As I type I'm listening to Steve Jordan's 80s Night on KCFM as planned where the music is spot on with the track currently playing being "Shiver" by George Benson.

Definitely one you don't hear on the radio that often and despite having all of Benson's albums on my hard drive, I haven't actually listened to "While The City Sleeps" which is where the single was taken from.

I won't give that song an "X" however as I've known it for quite a while anyway.

Onto more Twitter talk and if there's one thing that does my head in (and apologies to those reading who have done so) it's people who synchronise their Twitter statuses with their Facebook statuses.

That's like.... I don't know. For the first time I've failed to come up with an appropriate analogy.

With regards to specific Tweeter, Schofe has ended up having to go back to Cornwall for a family commitment which I think he's been brave to mention on the site.

He's still finding time to take a few photos of his hometown including one outside his favourite fish and chip shop in Newquay appropriatley called "Flounders".

If you look closely there's actually drawings of said character from the Little Mermaid above.

Although to be honest, "Flounders" is actually more a description of me with regards to getting any further after Uni.

On a similar note, Jonathan Ross mentioned that his favourite was "Barnacle Bill's" in North West London, on the video only episode of "Never Rewind The Buzzcocks" as seen in this extract from about 6:55, although you really have to watch it from the beginning to get the jokes.

Although if you take into account Mark's joke at 6:32, I'd prefer it if he
replaced Peter Andre with Rod Stewart.

Not that I'm defending Peter Andre in any way but I've never really had anything against the Aussie/London performer in terms of his music.

I actually liked some of the stuff from his second album where he collaborated with Warren G and Montel Jordan to produce some top sounding tunes.

Back to Wossy, and he's posted a photo of what will be tomorrow night's show with special guest Morrissey in his trademark pose.

Apparently he's performing "This Charming Man" which I reckon will be quite a treat.

It's taken me half an hour to write this post and there's been some great 80s music courtesy of Steve Jordan's 80s show such as "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" by the Police, "Buffalo Gals" by Macolm McLaren, "Barcelona" by Freddie Mercury and Monsterat Caballe (not a typo), and appropriately enough for Valentines, "I Could Be Happy" by Clare Grogan and the Altered Images.

One of the groups last year on the Music Radio module did an 80s show with Peter Cooper as the presenter, although whether he listened to Steve's show beforehand I'm not too sure.

Some of the jingles from that show may end up in the Christmas tape at the end of this academic year for amusement purposes.

Not to mention some of my own which were probably worse but sounded good in principle before recording them.

I'd probably need more than just a "Kick Up The 80s".
